Sunbury's Road Club Championships are coming up real soon! Pull out your calendar and circle this date in red:

Entry details will follow.

Have your say about cycling safety in the Macedon Ranges

A series of public meetings will be held over the next month to allow local cyclists to contribute to and raise awarenees of the issues to address safer roads in the Macedon Ranges.

Bike Safe Macedon Ranges is a community based organisation started by local cyclists with the aim of raising awareness in creating a safe environment for cyclists and all road users to share the road.

The aim of the meetings is to share results of the recent public survey and help us identify our most hazardous local roads, voice your concerns and share your ideas to improve safety for cyclists.

Club meeting - MTBA affiliation vote

At the most recent club meeting the prospect of affiliating with Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) was floated. It was agreed that we would vote on this at the next club meeting, scheduled for two weeks from today (details below). There will be brief opportunity to discuss the issue at the meeting but not extended debate. The committee suggest that the club's Facebook chatroom is an ideal forum for discussing the matter in advance. The Facebook chatroom can be found online at https://www.facebook.com/groups/499971553412903/

Details of the next club meeting:

  • Location: Sunbury Football Club boardroom, Clarke Oval, Riddell Road, Sunbury
  • Date: Wednesday, 18th September 2013
  • Time: 7:30pm
  • RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/673637925999429 or email the club.
  • Rules: As with all club meetings, you must show up to vote. No proxy or postal votes are accepted, and you must be a current financial member of the club. Good news, the football club has pub food and comfy chairs
