Sunbury Summer Road Race at Sth Gisborne 27/11/2011

Sunbury Cycling Club held the Summer Series Road Race No.1 - TOB Warmup at Sth Gisborne last Sunday. A quality field of 41 riders from Sunbury,  Brunswick, Northcote, Melton, Hawthorn, St Kilda,  Coburg and Footscray cycling clubs made the trip to Sth Gisborne and contributed to some hard racing.  A grade had 19 starters, B grade 8 starters and C / D Grade 14 starters. Weather conditions were perfect for road racing with none of the wet conditions being repeated from Saturday. As the racing progressed, the sun emerged and it became quite warm. An added bonus was the lack of wind that we normally get at the demanding Sth Gisborne circuit, and therefore lap times were faster than usual. Prizemoney was awarded to the podium winners in each grade.
